Celebrate spring and the mighty Dandelion at the third annual Dandelion Festival at KKs Biodynamic Farm on Sunday, April 29th, 59945 Main Road, Southold.
Learn about the many benefits of the lowly dandelion, that ubiquitous weed found in virtually every lawn. It is a powerhouse in the world of biodynamics and organic living. This single plant is known for providing honeybees their first food sources of spring, to supplying healing properties for a host of human ailments, and even a delicious addition to your salad or sidedish.
As our culture begins to pay closer attention to the importance of a healthy environment for our own healthy living, the dandelion is being rediscovered for all its beneficial properties. The Dandelion Festival will showcase all things dandelion, from cultivating to tasting – including dandelion wine! The event will also present herbal workshops, other wild edibles, and other activities to help us learn how to connect with Mother Earth.
Bring the whole family (but please leave the pets at home this time) for crafts, face painting, hula hooping and lawn games. What a great way to celebrate spring and embrace a lifestyle incorporating the bounty of the land.
The Dandelion Festival is on Sunday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 59945 Main Road, Southold. For more info, email email@example.com, or call 631-765-2075.
